2012 Spottswoode Sauvignon Blanc
Our Sauvignon Blanc represents what we believe to be the highest expression of this varietal. It’s quintessentially Californian, with the beautiful ripeness we are lucky to enjoy balanced with wonderful structure and acidity. Grapes from a handful of carefully-selected vineyards join our Spottswoode Estate fruit in the composition of this wine, a blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Sauvignon Musque. We strive to create a vibrant, lovely, flavorful wine that stands well on its own but also pairs beautifully with food. Because our production of this wine is so small, national availability is very limited.
This wine is viscous and textured, with wonderful minerality backed up by bright citrus notes of lemon and mandarin orange, as well as noticeable stone fruit characters of ripe white peach and apricot. Its fragrant, floral nose conjures bouquets of jasmine and honeysuckle. A beautifully balanced wine with strength, breadth and length from start to finish.
