2006 Lyndenhurst

Crafted in the same exacting manner as the Spottswoode Estate Cabernet Sauvignon, the Lyndenhurst—our second estate Cabernet—is delicious and approachable. Starting five years ago we found that, during our rigorous selection process for the Spottswoode Cabernet, we were also able to craft a wonderfully drinkable wine from our estate vineyard. Lyndenhurst Cabernet Sauvignon…the wine to drink while your Spottswoode ages gracefully in your cellar!

The Lyndenhurst name comes from our estate’s history—Spottswoode is a historic winegrowing estate, and Lyndenhurst is one of the names the property had earlier in its existence. An image of our pre-prohibition stone winery building graces the label.

Forthcoming and showing violets on the nose, the 2006 Lyndenhurst is rich and broad on the palate, where it evokes dark berries—black cherry, blackberry and boysenberry pie. Soft tannins are infused with an elegant dusty quality, sagebrush and black pepper. The wine finishes long, with notes of crème brûlée and toasted brioche.
