vineyard map Organic, sustainable farming has long been part of the Spottswoode tradition. As you can see from our vineyard map, we employ a wide assortment of environmentally sensitive farming practices, from owl and songbird nesting boxes, insectaries, and beehives to solar power and biodiesel-fueled tractors. We’ve also worked hard to restore the health of the local stream bordering our estate—replacing invasive, non-native flora with indigenous plants, and installing willow and rock structures to protect the banks and the ancient oaks. The attention and care given to our land improves the quality and consistency of our grapes, allowing us to produce wine that genuinely reflects the estate’s exceptional terroir.
